The Basics Of Tilemaps In Unity

To get started with Tilemaps, create one in your project hierarchy under 2D Object -> Tilemap -> Rectangular
Open the Tile Palette window and create a new palette
In the Sprite Editor, you will need to slice up your sprite into separate images. The automatic setting usually works, but if not you can specify the X and Y dimensions of your tiles before pressing Slice.
Once your sprite is sliced, just drag and drop it into your palette
